POWER

Power—a small word with a heavy impact. It holds the ability to influence, command, and sometimes even control. But what really comes to your mind when you hear the word “power”? Is it political strength, physical force, or something more personal? Power exists in many forms and touches all our lives in different ways. It can uplift or destroy, depending on how it’s used. Let’s explore the kinds of power that shape human behavior and relationships.

Power—such a strong, powerful word, isn’t it? Who doesn’t like having power? We all do, don’t we? But when I speak of power, I don’t necessarily mean political dominance. I mean that invisible yet potent feeling that makes one feel superior to others. Take money power, for instance—it gives a sense of control, and in many ways, that’s true. I’ve seen people whose entire personalities shift once they have money. It’s like they believe they can buy anything, including respect and influence.

Then there’s another kind of power—control over others. Some people begin to think they own you, like they have authority over your choices, your time, and your life. But somewhere, we allow this. We unknowingly hand over our power, and they take full advantage of it. That sense of entitlement grows, and soon, they ride high on the illusion of control.

People with any kind of power—be it wealth, influence, or emotional hold—often start to believe they’re invincible, sometimes even placing themselves on a pedestal close to God.

Power isn’t inherently good or bad—it’s how we choose to use it that defines its impact. The real power lies not in overpowering others, but in empowering them. And above all, it’s important to remember: the greatest power one can possess is self-awareness and humility. Because the moment power clouds judgment, it begins to lose its true value. So, let’s reflect—what kind of power do we hold, and how do we use it ?
