Do Our Dreams Find Us?

Have you ever wondered how the universe quietly conspires to fulfill your deepest desires? Sometimes, it feels like the things we once wished for—whether big or small—find their way into our lives, often in ways we never expected.

My own journey is a testament to this, and I’d love to share a glimpse of it with you. With a Master’s degree in Biotechnology, I spent nearly nine years working as a scientist in a research lab. It was a challenging but fulfilling journey. And then, everything changed. I made the life-altering decision to leave my job and embrace a new role—that of a mother.

As a little girl, I had dreamed of becoming a doctor. I wanted to heal people and find a cure for cancer. Though I didn’t study medicine, I ended up working in a lab, where my second job brought me closer to that dream: cancer research.

I still remember the day it hit me. I was in the lab, carefully analyzing a set of samples, when I realized that, in a way, I was fulfilling that childhood dream. Not in the way I imagined as a wide-eyed child, but in a way that mattered. Life had its own plan for me.

For years, my world revolved around scientific data, research papers, and lab reports. Creative writing had taken a back seat, tucked away quietly in some forgotten corner of my mind. But after stepping away from my job to embrace motherhood, something unexpected happened. One quiet afternoon, while my child was asleep, I opened my book and began to write—simply to let my thoughts flow.

What started as a small, uncertain step slowly grew into something meaningful. I began publishing my work, sharing my reflections, stories, and ideas with the world. Writing, which I had set aside for so long, found its way back to me—almost as if it had been waiting patiently for the right moment.

Have you ever paused to reflect on your own journey? Look around. Some of the things you have now were once distant dreams. Maybe it’s the career you love, a hobby you always wanted to pursue, or even the relationships you cherish.

But here’s the catch—dreams don’t come to life on their own. We need to take that first step, as uncertain or daunting as it might feel. I know this because I’ve struggled with it too. Starting my blog, for instance, I doubted myself endlessly. What if I wasn’t good enough? What if no one reads my words?

But something magical happens once you start. The fear, the self-doubt—they begin to fade. And before you know it, you’re moving forward. You’re doing the very thing you thought you couldn’t.

So, let me ask you: What’s holding you back from taking that first step?
