Stop Comparing: A Gentle Note to Self

As kids, we were often compared—grades, behavior, achievements.

Now as adults, we find ourselves doing the same.

We compare jobs, homes, vacations, and even our children.

Why?

Why can’t we just be happy with what we have?

Comparison doesn’t inspire; it exhausts.

It makes us forget that our journey is unique, our pace is just right, and our life is our own.

Note to Self:

Stop looking sideways.

What you have is enough.

Who you are is enough.

Keep going—on your own beautiful path.

  1. I fully agree with you here, Akshata. A lot of problems stem out ‘comparisons’.
Parents compare their siblings, and they compare the siblings with other children.
We also have a tendency to compare ourselves with others.
    Quite natural. But not healthy.
We have to quickly cut that thought off.
We are all unique in the way we are. We have to be proud of that.
